Wideband Differentially Fed Dual-Polarized Antenna by Using Three-Strip Transmission Lines

A new method of designing a wideband differentially fed dual-polarized antenna by using three-strip transmission lines (TS-TLs) is presented. power divider composed four TS-TLs first proposed and illustrated its equivalent circuit. Based on the divider, with in-band resonances developed. To enhance out-of-band selectivity, two radiation nulls quasi-elliptic response are obtained utilizing specifically designed structures in TS-TL-based divider. The null at lower produced resonance from center strip TS-TL shorting coaxial cable. second upper slot formed dipole arm outer TS-TL. Combining high second-order harmonic suppression owing to method, presented demonstrated that it not only has selectivity covering 1.67-2.91 GHz, but also suppressions 33.8 20.6 dB over frequency bands 0.6-1 GHz 3.3-5 GHz. In addition, stable gain beamwidth achieved for base station applications.
